𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗿𝘆. At GD, three-dimensional chicken intestinal organoids replicate the architecture and cellular diversity of the avian intestine, including epithelial, immune and connective tissue components in a single model. “𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘪𝘥𝘴 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘷𝘪𝘷𝘰 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯,” says Prof Dr Ir Lonneke Vervelde, immunologist and senior researcher.
