Investment Promotions - CleanTech & Tech

‘Every industry goes through a cycle before it hits an inflection point. PV Industry saw this, so did Wind, and I have been through this before’, Dr. Markus Tacke stated about Green Hydrogen as we settled into the board room. Along with my colleagues, Suresh Mugalivakam Subramaniam & Prithvi Sai Penumadu from the The Trade Council of Denmark in South Asia, I had the opportunity to meet with the leadership team of Ohmium at their Gigafactory, on the outskirts of Bengaluru. We met with the newly onboarded CEO, Markus Tacke, Arne Ballantine (Co-founder), and Ashwin Varma (COO). The Green Hydrogen Industry needs scale, so the company can transfer the benefit of cost optimisation and speed of delivery, with a technology that is modular, reliable and efficient. Arne Ballantine has brought together a fantastic team to realise this. Ashwin Varma has done the same by marrying the best practices of semiconductor and automotive manufacturing. In the meantime, there was another story brewing in Arne`s mind – A story of ‘julehjerter’. Something Arne learnt during his childhood, while celebrating Christmas with his Danish mother and cousins. "Julehjerter", is a traditional heart-shaped ornament woven in paper. These are commonly seen on Christmas trees in Denmark. The legend has it that this practice was started by Hans Christian Andersen and Julehjerter are usually stuffed with candies (I think it is stuffed with liquorice for adults as well :D). Arne showed us how it’s done at the lunch table, adding a personal Danish touch as we wrapped up an interesting afternoon Thank you for hosting us🙏🏼. We look forward to exploring synergies with the Danish ecosystem — in Denmark, in India, and globally.
