Powering Europe through the winter ❄️❄️ The official gas year started yesterday, marking the beginning of the winter high season for Norwegian gas exports to Europe. We recently completed a demanding maintenance period with high activity across land, offshore, and European infrastructure. Several subsea projects were carried out, including new connections from gas fields to the Kvitebjørn pipeline and the Statpipe system. As we enter the winter season, we are well prepared. Deliveries remain stable and high, even with temporarily reduced capacity at the Kollsnes processing plant. Demand for Norwegian gas is at its highest ever. From January to August, 76.8 BCM was delivered, an equivalent to 848.6 TWh. Norwegian gas now accounts for just under 9 percent of Europe’s total energy consumption. Gassco will continue to ensure safe and efficient energy deliveries to Europe.
