Gartner Rose are delighted to advise the safe and successful utilisation of the Week 36 possession for Bardwell Park Station Upgrade, being delivered as part of the NSW Government’s Safe Accessible Transport program. Over the course of the possession, 3,845 hours were worked across the two day period, with 193 personnel attending site. Zero MTIs, LTIs or FAIs were recorded. Drug and alcohol testing was undertaken across the workforce, with compliance managed in line with project requirements. A significant amount of plant was utilised to complete the work, including the 400T and 100T cranes, two Franna cranes, a vac truck, a hi-rail crane, a mobile hi-rail crane, two elevated work platforms, thirteen excavators, two hi-rail dump trucks, a concrete pump, a scissor lift, a smooth drum roller and a 10T bogie truck. Notable lifts included the installation of two separate structural steel sections of the concourse roof, each weighing approximately 5 tonnes, undertaken by the 400T crane. All crane operations and other high-risk activities were completed safely and in accordance with approved methodologies. As part of the Week 36 possession, the following scope was undertaken: • Mobilisation of a 400T crane, a 100T crane and multiple other items of plant required to support the work • Installation of approximately 50 tonnes of structural steel for the concourse canopy roof, concourse screens, stair canopies and screens, and platform canopies • Installation of approximately 80m² of roofing to the concourse and stair roofs • Completion of all concourse sub-framing and finished fascia • Completion of all concourse mesh screens • Installation of approximately 15m of ULX for the new incoming power supply under two sets of tracks • Installation of approximately 150m of CSR route for LV and communications • Installation of approximately 80m of new sewer • Installation of approximately 80m of new stormwater and ACO drain • Completion of approximately 500m² of platform resurfacing works • Safe removal and disposal of approximately 1 tonne of asbestos pipe • Off-site disposal of approximately 300 tonnes of spoil Congratulations and thank you to the Gartner Rose staff, the Transport for NSW project team, our subcontractors and suppliers for the effective utilisation of the Week 36 possession at Bardwell Park Station.
