On 7 May, the Interreg Estonia-Latvia project Hack the Border came to an end with an inspiring final event in Valka. 🇪🇪 🇱🇻 The journey started with nearly 200 young people in October, with 40 continuing to the Hack the Border hackathon where 7 mixed Estonian-Latvian teams were formed. We are so happy to see that In just a few months, teams managed to bring several ideas to life: ⭐ the first-ever Valga-Valka youth festival “Together We Sound” at Raketibaas R-12; ⭐ student exchange activities between schools in Valga and Valka events connecting Estonian and Latvian youth; ⭐improving communication and information-sharing in Valga-Valka One of the biggest highlights of the project was definitely the visit from Euronews, which came to capture how Hack the Border helped create first friendships and stronger connections between Estonian and Latvian youth. 🤩 Because in the end, Hack the Border was never only about ideas - it was about bringing people together, building trust, and creating friendships between young people living on both sides of the 🇪🇪 🇱🇻 border. 💖 A huge thank you to everyone who was part of this journey! Special thanks to Tommy Danquah, for mentoring and motivating our youth throughout the project! 😍 Valgamaa Kutseõppekeskus Valkas Jāņa Cimzes ģimnāzija Valga Gümnaasium Valkas novads, Valga vald 📸 : Tõiv Jõul The project is co-funded by the Estonia-Latvia Programme. #HackTheBorder #Interreg #EstLatProgramme #ValgaValka #CrossBorderCollaboration 🇪🇪 🇱🇻
