Recently our team had the opportunity to visit the ICA Gruppen office and store in Stockholm as part of the Export to Sweden 2.0 program by Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office (Ukraine), Food Collective, OTGS – Open Trade Gate Sweden and Kommerskollegium | National Board of Trade Sweden As one of the leading retail networks in Sweden, ICA sets a very high standard for how products are selected, positioned, and presented. It was a real privilege to be invited inside and see how decisions are made beyond the shelf. What stood out is how clearly their current focus areas are defined: – value for money – world foods and assortment diversity – online and convenience – sustainability Everything on the shelf reflects these priorities. One key takeaway that working with leading retailers in Sweden is not just about having a good product, It is about meeting a full system: – strong certifications (GFSI, BRC, IFS) – transparent structure and compliance – efficient logistics and service level – full traceability and audit readiness And most importantly - sustainability is built into the system. Not a story. Not a trend. A requirement.
