"I guess all those things make a big difference with regard to how you feel and how you want to represent your public, your family, and your community. It taught me that lesson that everybody can support each other." At just 15 years old, a two-week co-op camp in Tatamagouche changed the trajectory of Lloyd Hayden’s life. Growing up in a family of 12, Lloyd was already part of a co-op from the crib. But it was at this camp, surrounded by 50 other young people, that he truly realized the power of collective support—the beauty of giving to a community and receiving that same support in return. The co-operative model is more than just a way of doing business; it is a common table where we work together to address our collective needs. Whether you are building a barn, shingling a roof, or running a local grocery store, the foundation remains the same: we are stronger together. Watch Lloyd Hayden, President of the Newfoundland-Labrador Federation of Co-operatives, share his inspiring journey and explain why he has dedicated his life to representing his community with devotion, passion, and pride.
