Climate Whistleblowers
Ephrem Yalike Ngonzo was about to board a flight to flee the Central African Republic and reveal Russian disinformation networks, when he was arrested on Russian orders and accused of treason. Without passport, a phone or resources, he fled cross the Oubangui River into the Congo, and spent months in hiding before being able to arrive to France and speak out. The decision to refuse him asylum in France is horrible, not only in what it means for Ephrem and his family, but also a disastrous message to justice seekers and whistleblowers who thought europe was still a bit of a safe haven. Hopefully a mistake that will be corrected soon.
