Sheffield, Take the Mic: Our Public Speaking Workshop Showed What Happens When Young People Find Their Voice. 🎤 Public speaking is the fear most adults never conquer. This week in Sheffield, our young people faced it head on and grew in front of our eyes. Young people who arrived quietly unsure of themselves stood up, spoke out, and finished to the applause of their peers. And the skills they built reach far beyond the stage: 🔵 Self-belief — learning to organise your thoughts and stay steady under pressure changes how you carry yourself everywhere. 🔵 Presence — holding a room's attention is a skill, and they practised it in real time. 🔵 Career readiness — interviews, presentations, meetings every career rewards the person who can stand up and speak with clarity.   For young people from underserved backgrounds, finding their voice early can be the difference between being in the room and being heard in the room.
