A huge move for ITER! The first European Vacuum Vessel sector lands in the tokamak pit 🏗️ 🙌 It’s a proud moment for Europe, and a major step in the assembly of #ITER. Three of the nine modules are now installed in the pit, where they will host the largest fusion reaction ever. Fusion for Energy (F4E) delivered sector 5 last year in collaboration with Ansaldo Nucleare Ansaldo Energia Westinghouse Mangiarotti Walter Tosto S.p.A. Once onsite, the component was fitted with thermal shields and two toroidal field coils to form the 1100-tonne module. 👏 Well done to the team at ITER Organization for the smooth lift and landing!
