Cybersecurity is no longer measured by the number of alerts processed or incidents detected. Increasingly, success is being defined by an organisation's ability to reduce risk, maintain resilience, and deliver measurable business outcomes. That was one of the key messages delivered by our very own Claudio Stahnke during today's session, "Managed Security in the AI Era: From Alert Handling to Business Resilience", at Infosecurity Europe. “The European managed security services market is poised for robust growth, expanding from $11 billion in 2025 to $16 billion by 2028,” reports Claudio. Drawing on Frost & Sullivan's latest Voice of the Enterprise Security Customer Survey of 2,100 senior cybersecurity decision-makers worldwide, the discussion explored how expectations of Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) are evolving as organisations face increasingly complex threat environments, accelerating AI adoption, and growing pressure to demonstrate business value from security investments. Among the findings discussed, a lack of visibility remains the most significant obstacle to improving organisational security, while security operations, cloud security, data security, and managed security services continue to rank among the top cybersecurity investment priorities heading into 2026. The session also highlighted the uneven maturity of AI adoption across cybersecurity operations. While many organisations are already combining automation and AI to strengthen their security posture, others remain in the early stages of adoption, underscoring the need for managed security partners that can help bridge capability gaps while supporting effective governance and risk management. Perhaps most importantly, the conversation reinforced a broader industry shift: organisations are increasingly looking beyond traditional monitoring and alert handling services and seeking strategic partners that can help improve cyber resilience, quantify risk exposure, and align security outcomes with wider business objectives.
