At the Research to Reader conference last week, one theme kept surfacing: AI is reshaping science at pace — and the choices we make now will define how strong and trustworthy that future becomes. Many speakers described this as a pivotal moment. The direction of travel will depend on how thoughtfully we embed regulation, governance and responsible practice into research and publishing. Simone Ragavooloo, Research Integrity Portfolio Manager at Frontiers, brought data to that conversation. Drawing on our global survey of 1,645 researchers, she highlighted a clear priority: advancing AI literacy to reduce misuse, strengthen trust in science, and support researchers as they adopt more powerful and sophisticated use cases. Because AI is no longer emerging. It is already embedded in the workflows that shape evidence generation, peer review and scientific communication. As Simone emphasised, the AI future we build will be shaped by the decisions being made today — in labs, editorial offices, publishing houses and tech teams. Every stakeholder has a role in ensuring it strengthens, rather than undermines, research integrity. Discover the survey findings ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eW4hHAim #ResearcherChampions
