How many Freudenberg Performance Materials solutions are part of a single drive? Once again, we are taking a closer look at our products and solutions that quietly support everyday life. Today, we’re with Daniel, an automotive development engineer. His morning starts at a vehicle testing center, where new models are tested for driving comfort and noise levels. Many of the vehicles he works with integrate Finsol® acoustic materials in their door panels, headliners, wheel arch liners, and underbody shields. These solutions, together with Evolon® sound absorption layers in the vehicle interior, help reduce road, wind, and engine noise, creating a noticeably quieter driving experience. Meanwhile, cabin air quality and overall vehicle performance are checked. Filtura® filter media help maintain clean air inside the vehicle and support the protection and efficiency of critical engine components with advanced filtration solutions. Later, Daniel joins a review of the vehicle interior. Decorative facing materials define the visual and tactile quality, while seating materials, such as FilFlex, ensure comfort, durability, and dimensional stability. Carpet backing solutions and lightweight nonwoven materials further support the interior’s structure and functionality. During a visit to the production area, Daniel stops by the paint shop, where Evolon® cleaning cloths are used to remove dust from sensitive surfaces. Their high cleaning performance helps ensure the quality standards required in automotive manufacturing. On his way to the next meeting, he passes by the logistics department. This is where newly produced components are prepared for transport. Evolon® technical packaging protects sensitive parts from scratches and damage during transit between suppliers and production sites. Outside, trucks equipped with MehlerHeytex tarpaulins transport components safely through all weather conditions, helping to keep the automotive supply chain moving. Upon arriving at the meeting room, Daniel quickly reviews the agenda for today's meeting regarding the next generation of electric vehicles. One agenda item is battery performance. Battery Pack Liquid Absorbers from Freudenberg Performance Materials manage moisture inside lithium-ion battery packs by reliably absorbing liquids that could otherwise affect performance and lifespan.
