Facade with a ‘crinkle’ effect 🦾 The "Vertikale" climbing centre in Bressanone stands out not only for its functionality but also for its design, featuring a distinctive building envelope. A sophisticated climate control system forms the basis: a multi-layered facade with integrated ventilation and heat storage zones, as well as deliberately incorporated thermal mass within the building, ensures an efficient interplay between energy management and indoor climate. The outer cladding creates a striking appearance. Perforated 3D aluminium sheets replace traditional sun-shading louvres and create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow that changes throughout the day.
