🌱 In dialogue for a sustainable future Last week, a delegation from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China as well as two representatives from the Environmental Defense Fund visited us in Oberhausen. The representatives from the Department of Atmospheric Environment showed great interest in our approaches to the sustainable use of carbon. 🌍 To kick things off, our head of institute, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Manfred Renner , provided insights into our research and demonstrated how we at Fraunhofer UMSICHT are working on solutions to the major challenges in energy and environmental technology. During the subsequent discussion, it became clear just how important international dialogue is – and how many common points of departure we share. 💡Our focus topic, Carbon Management, was a particular highlight. Andreas Menne explained how we’re working to stop viewing CO₂ as waste and instead treat it as a valuable resource. Whether it’s CO₂ utilization, catalyst development, or Power-to-X processes – our goal is to keep carbon in the cycle and thereby enable sustainable value creation. During the tour of our labs and pilot plants, research became tangible: concrete technologies, real-world applications and many stimulating conversations right at the facilities. 🤝 Thank you very much for the inspiring exchange, the great interest, and the open discussions. Such encounters show how important international cooperation is for driving change forward together! #CarbonManagement #Sustainability #Research
