𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗯𝘆 𝗙𝗠𝗗! FIRST by FMD - Forschungsfabrik Mikroelektronik Deutschland is the European conference on microelectronic trends, roadmaps and strategic alignment. It brings together decision-makers who drive innovation across Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem and highlights cutting-edge research in semiconductor technologies. We will address the importance of Characterization, Test, and Reliability (CTR) in advanced packaging for key industries like automotive, AI, and energy. CTR solutions determine whether new semiconductor technologies can move from promising concepts to robust, industry-ready systems. That is why Frank Altmann, Deputy Director of our institute and member of the FIRST Program Committee, emphasizes that quality and reliability assessment must be part of technology roadmaps from the start. For Europe’s electronics industry, this is not only a technical requirement, but a factor in long-term competitiveness.   For the APECS Pilot Line, this is a central part of the work on advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration. FIRST by FMD 2026 will take up this link between reliability, scalability, and industrial implementation on September 30 and October 1 at the EUREF Campus in Berlin. Registration is open.
