Longer service life for molds and tools 🔧✨ In toolmaking, moldmaking and patternmaking, wear, cracks or changed geometries often mean costly rework — or even the complete replacement of tools. Fraunhofer ILT shows how Laser Material Deposition (LMD) and Extreme High-Speed Laser Material Deposition (EHLA) can open up new possibilities: Highly stressed areas can be selectively coated, damaged zones repaired and geometries flexibly adapted to new requirements.
