💧 An important step forward for one of Europe's last free-flowing rivers. The Provincial Administrative Court in Warsaw has upheld the decision to revoke the environmental permit for the planned Siarzewo dam on the Vistula River -a significant milestone after more than eight years of legal challenges by conservation organisations. While the legal process is not yet over, this ruling offers hope for the protection of the Vistula and the wider Polesia region, one of Europe's most important wetland landscapes. It also highlights the importance of ensuring that major infrastructure projects respect nature, biodiversity and sound environmental law. Congratulations to our partners at Save Polesia and everyone who has worked tirelessly to reach this point. We remain committed to protecting the Vistula and Europe's largest wetland wilderness.
