Feb. 17: Singer/songwriter Sarah Lee Guthrie — the daughter of Arlo and the granddaughter of Woody Guthrie — is 42 years old today; singer/songwriter Gene Pitney was born 81 years ago today; on this day in 1982 — 39 years ago — the director, actor and drama coach, Lee Strasberg, who popularized “method acting,” died of a heart attack at age 80; and actor Hal Holbrook was born 96 years ago today. He died on January 23 of this year.
