Innovation Enel Green Power International SA
A few weeks ago, Enel Green Power received the DNV assessment of its Structural Component Strategy. The report confirms that the new maintenance framework is fully compliant with IEC 61400‑1 and IEC 61400‑22, and is positioned for alignment with ISO 55000. This milestone reflects several years of rigorous work conducted in collaboration with leading institutions—including the University of California, Berkeley, MERYCSE USC—as well as Enel’s technical and innovation teams. The newly issued annex to the Operation and Maintenance Manual supersedes the need for traditional physical interventions such as torque verification, bolt tightening, and other structural component inspections. Leveraging advanced turbine sensor systems, it enables continuous monitoring and assures the safe operation of the assets. This approach not only strengthens operational reliability but also significantly enhances safety standards across our wind fleet.
