Last Thursday was all about the #CircularEconomyAct, with DIGITALEUROPE right in the middle of the action, pushing to make it a real enabler for circular business models ♻️ 📈 From the high-level dialogue with EVP Stéphane Séjourné and Commissioner Jessika Roswall to the final stakeholder workshop feeding into the impact assessment, it’s clear this file is gaining momentum — and industry is very much part of the process. The #priority is simple: make circularity work as a business case. That means cutting fragmentation, reducing admin burden, avoiding overlaps, and speeding up the shift to digital information tools. In other words, making the circular Single Market actually function. The digital industry has been investing in circular solutions for years. But #scaling them is still a challenge, mainly because of fragmented rules. If that doesn’t change, circularity risks staying niche instead of becoming mainstream. This is why the #ImpactAssessment matters so much. Without a strong and ambitious proposal that tackles these barriers head-on, Europe risks missing a big opportunity, both for circularity and for competitiveness. DIGITALEUROPE will stay fully engaged as the file moves within DGs and later to the co-legislators, where the final touches will shape the flavor of what will be the #outcome.
