(Hungary), and Slovenskรฉ elektrรกrne (Slovakia) โ€” to further advance the development of its 100% sovereign European VVER 440 nuclear fuel design. This agreement marks a key milestone in strengthening the diversification and security of nuclear fuel supply for VVER 440 reactors across Europe. โšก๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ The project enters an initial phase focused on the design of the VVER 440 fuel assembly and its associated transport container. It will be followed by a Lead Test Assembly (LTA) program to support licensing and future reloads across the participating nuclear power plants. The initiative is supported by an integrated, robust and fully European design and supply chain, leveraging Framatomeโ€™s fuel fabrication facilities in France and Germany. ๐Ÿญ The development of the VVER 440 fuel design is also worked on in the framework of the โ€œSAVEโ€ (Framatome Safe and Alternative VVER European) project, supported by the Euratom Research and Training Programme of the European Union, involving multiple European stakeholders including these four VVER utilities.
