Last week, we swapped our desks for FF Fest, where the wider Founders Forum Group ecosystem gathered in one place 🎪 Accelerators, funds, operators, lawyers, founders… essentially a room full of people whose shared hobby is building companies. As always with this crowd, the day moved quickly between big conversations, practical insights and the occasional moment of competitive chaos (including a Family Fortunes-style showdown between founder teams… which we can confirm was taken extremely seriously 👀). Some standout moments included Brent Hoberman advising the audience that if you don’t love your job, you should probably leave it. A piece of guidance that appeared to land slightly differently depending on whether you were a founder or an employee in the room… 😅 Meanwhile Dan Vahdat shared his formula for success: 🏃 Exercise every day 📚 Read history books 💼 Work hard To our founder, Tom Bohills, you won’t mind if we take a few hours out of the day to make sure numbers 1 and 2 are fully taken care of, do you? The broader theme across the day was clear: the UK remains an incredibly exciting place to build. Talent, ambition, and a slightly stubborn belief that big things can happen here are still very much alive 🇬🇧 We left with plenty of ideas, a few slightly overheated brains, and a renewed appreciation for the community that sits around founders as they scale. Looking forward to the next one.
