Shaping the future of energy storage: FRV on stage in Europe's financial capital Last week, FRV Germany participated in the Europe Battery Energy Storage Summit 2026 in Frankfurt, joining policymakers, investors and industry leaders to discuss the next phase of the storage market. Our key takeaway: Scaling battery storage in Europe will depend less on technology alone and more on how policy, markets and project development come together.   FRV contributed with two sessions across the day: Marina Villalante Sustacha shared perspectives on the “Importance of BESS in the Hyperscale Data Center”, highlighting how the rapid growth of digital infrastructure is increasingly linked to the parallel deployment of storage, both on-grid and off-grid. Amós Guillén Duarte, Managing Director of FRV Germany, joined the panel on “The Future Battery Energy Storage Ecosystem in Europe: Policy, Collaboration, and System Value”, where the discussion focused on how the next phase of storage deployment will depend on closer alignment between regulation, market design and project development. From the panel, a few themes stood out: ✅ Clear and stable policy frameworks remain essential to unlock long-term investment in storage. ✅ Collaboration between developers, utilities and investors is becoming increasingly important to scale projects efficiently. ✅ Communicating the full system value of storage is key to accelerating deployment and improving bankability. The conversations in Frankfurt once again highlighted that scaling battery storage in Europe is not only a question of technology, but of coordination across the entire ecosystem. Thank you to all speakers and participants for the insights.
