€1.1 million for regulatory support in cardiac innovation Dr. Florian Meißner's HeartGate project is one of 14 research initiatives supported by ForTra gGmbH with a focus on regulatory matters. More than six million people worldwide live with severe heart failure. For many, left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) can be lifesaving. Yet today’s implantation procedures still come with significant risks. 💡 The solution: HeartGate The HeartGate system aims to significantly reduce these risks: A newly developed implantation kit enables LVAD implantation without cardiopulmonary bypass, allowing for a more controlled procedure with minimal blood loss.
