On 17 June 2026, FIA together with GAPMMI Pusat and ASRIM INDONESIA had the opportunity to engage in a constructive discussion with BADAN PENGAWAS OBAT DAN MAKANAN, represented by Dra. Dwiana Andayani, Apt., Director of Processed Food Standardization, Dr. Didik Joko Pursito, S.Pt, M.Si, Directorate of Processed Food Distribution Supervision and Mr. Agus Yudi Prayudana, S.Farm, Apt, M.M, Directorate of Community Empowerment and Processed Food Business Actors. The meeting provided a valuable platform to exchange perspectives on the progress of Indonesia’s Nutri-Level Front-of-Pack Nutrition Labelling (FOPNL) initiative and its future implementation. Key discussion areas included: 🔸 Updates on the development and regulatory process of the Nutri-Level/FOPNL framework, including implementation timelines, transition periods, and industry readiness. 🔸 Exchange of international best practices and experiences on FOPNL implementation, including perspectives from neighboring ASEAN countries. 🔸 Discussion on the importance of consumer education, science-based policymaking, and continued stakeholder collaboration to support effective implementation and public health goals. The discussion reaffirmed the importance of ongoing collaboration between regulators and industry to develop practical, evidence-based policies that support healthier consumer choices while enabling effective implementation across the food and beverage sector.
