On 16 June, the Belgian and British energy and climate ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Brussels to enable cross-border CO₂ transport between Belgium and the UK for permanent storage. The agreement aims to simplify and align permitting processes, helping CO₂ infrastructure projects move forward efficiently and in full compliance with regulations. ⚙️ Our CEO & Managing Director, as well as Chairman of Fluxys c-grid, Pascal De Buck, attended the ceremony, reaffirming Fluxys’ commitment to supporting initiatives that streamline regulation and accelerate the development of carbon capture and storage. Projects such as CarbonConnect are a clear example, aiming to connect industrial clusters in Belgium and beyond to storage solutions in the North Sea. Simplifying permitting is key to unlocking cross-border CO₂ value chains and delivering on climate ambitions. 🌍 #CCS #CO2 #UK
