Sarah Deckard was recently honored with Fluor’s Silver Medallion Award in recognition of her life-saving actions during a medical emergency. The award, presented to colleagues who assist others in distress, recognizes Sarah’s courage, quick thinking, and decisive response that helped save the life of a fellow employee. Earlier this year, Sarah, an employee of subcontractor BMWC Constructors, was assisting with personnel orientation for Fluor’s Lebanon, Indiana, project when she saw a participant suddenly experience a seizure. She immediately helped position the worker safely, and when the worker went into acute respiratory arrest, Sarah acted without hesitation and began CPR. Thanks to her efforts, the worker was successfully revived before EMS arrived and has since made a full recovery.  Her actions exemplify care for others and the commitment to protecting people when every second counts.
