Some careers at Fletcher Building are measured not just in years, but in legacy. General Manager David Thomas is a perfect example, marking an extraordinary 50 years with the business. David joined Fletcher Timber in Rotorua in 1976 as a young accountant with a simple plan -  stay a few years, gain some experience, then move on. Half a century later, he’s still here. Over 50 years, he built a career across multiple Fletcher businesses including PlaceMakers, Laminex New Zealand and as General Manager of GIB® (Winstone Wallboards Ltd) Wallboards, taking on a wide range of roles and experiences along the way. His journey is a great example of what’s possible at Fletcher, where there is opportunity to grow, move across industries, and build a long and varied career within one organisation.
