Vietnam's VietJet has stopped operating two Chinese COMAC C909 aircraft after its 6-month lease with Chengdu Airlines ended. The reason for not renewing the lease agreement is being attributed to "high operating costs", "crew hiring", "maintenance and legal constraints" of Vietnam aviation. This lease agreement was a breakthrough for COMAC when Chinese aircraft first operated in Vietnam. In April this year, following Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Vietnam, the low-cost carrier VietJet Air received two C909 regional jets. Recently, the carrier welcomed its first Boeing 737 -800 aircraft, part of a $32B deal, shifting away from an all-Airbus fleet history. #aircraft #aviation
