Celebrating 45 Years of fka - Milestones in Engineering 🌐🚗 Today's throwback: The Canyon Future Mobility Concept More commuters are becoming aware of the emissions and noise pollution generated by traditional vehicles. While many switch to bicycles for their daily routine, a large majority hesitate due to one factor: a lack of weather protection. As part of our 45th anniversary, we look back at projects where fka dared to question the mobility status quo. In this collaboration between Canyon, Institute for Automotive Engineering (ika) and fka, we contributed to developing a unique vehicle concept. The goal? Combining the sustainability and spatial efficiency of a pedelec with the weather protection and comfort of a car. Key Features: 🔹4-wheel chassis for maximum stability and safety 🔹Versatile weather capsule that can be easily opened or closed depending on conditions 🔹Adaptable powertrain with the ability to switch between electric and manual cycling modes 🔹Compact less than 90 cm width, allowing it to use standard cycle paths Officially presented by Canyon at the 2021 IAA MOBILITY, the one-off prototype received great feedback and successfully achieved its goal of stimulating a rethink of future mobility concepts. Looking back at this project, we are proud to see that our drive for sustainable solutions has always been part of fka.
