One of the most visited city in the world — and still full of surprises. 🇫🇷 With over 19 million visitors in 2025 and total figures for the Île-de-France region of up to 50 million, #Paris is a global magnet for culture, #architecture and imagination. But beyond the postcard views lies a city in constant reinvention — a place where tradition and transformation go hand in hand. In the run-up to the 2024 Olympics, Paris accelerated its cultural and urban agenda: from revitalised public #spaces to the Cultural Olympiad, which brought performances into the open and expanded access to the arts across all neighbourhoods. Much of what was temporary is now here to stay. Architecturally, Paris is a layered city — where Modernism, #Brutalism and Postmodernism sit alongside Haussmannian order and medieval traces. From Le #Corbusier to Piano, Niemeyer and Gailhoustet, the city has long embraced experimentation. Even the Eiffel Tower — now an icon — was once reviled as a “giant black chimney” by artists in 1887. Gustave Eiffel compared it to the pyramids. He was right. Urban plans like Le SDRIF-E 2040 aim for zero carbon emissions and equitable cultural access. In the spirit of the 15-minute city, new venues now emerge from former factories, hosting artists, communities and rehearsals side by side. And amid it all, the Louvre quietly shines — maintained with 2,500 litres of wax each month to keep its parquet glowing. In Paris, architecture is memory and momentum — shaping how the city looks, and how it lives. 📍Which layer of Paris would you explore first? 📷 Pixabay by Pexels | Jean-Pierre Dalbéra (CC BY 2.0) | Arthur Weidmann (CC BY-SA 4.0) | Antoine Gravier by Pexels | Paul Fleury (CC BY 3.0) | Created Stories by Pexels | Mathias Reding by Pexels | Guilhem Vellut (CC BY 2.0) | Zairon (CC BY-SA 4.0) | Jill Evans by Pexels
