But 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁-𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁. The AI Act, in force since 2024, classifies applications related to autonomous driving and traffic management as high-risk systems, with requirements for #security, #transparency and #HumanOversight. GDPR protections and European data space initiatives add further layers of responsibility. For public administrations and decision-makers, this means 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀. Advanced tools adopted without a clear integration strategy risk remaining isolated experiments rather than structural improvements. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗜.
