We are honored to welcome Yi Wang to the FRA Global Foundation Symposium speaker stage this September!   Dr. Yi Wang is a world-renowned fire scientist and a Fellow of The Combustion Institute — awarded for outstanding contributions to fire science, particularly in fire modeling.   With a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a specialty in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland, Dr. Wang has spent over a decade at FM leading fire dynamics research at one of the most respected fire research institutions in the world. His expertise spans fire modeling, fire dynamics, fire suppression, material flammability, and battery safety — bridging fundamental science with real-world engineering applications. He currently oversees all research activities related to fire and explosion at FM.   Before FM, Dr. Wang developed fire risk assessment model for global insurance companies at Risk Management Solutions in Silicon Valley. He is an active member of the UMD-FPE Board of Visitors and sits on the Management Committee of the International Association for Fire Safety Science (IAFSS). Dr. Wang serves on the editorial boards of Fire Safety Journal, Fire and Materials, and Fire Technology.
