RWE AG has agreed to sell its Swedish #wind power portfolio, a GW-level development pipeline and associated employees, to Norwegian #renewable energy company Aneo Holding AS. The #transaction encompasses 11 onshore wind farms with a total operational capacity of 124 MW, the operational 48-MW Karehamn nearshore wind farm, part of RWE's third-party onshore service business, and the relevant development, operations and offshore teams. Additionally, Aneo is also acquiring an #onshore wind development pipeline of 1.8 GW. The price tag of the deal, which is set to close this quarter, was not disclosed. Completion is subject to standard conditions and approvals. Commenting on the sale, Katja Wünschel, CEO at RWE Renewables #Europe & Australia, noted that the company is “pleased to have found a new home for our impacted employees, and we wish the Swedish team and its projects continued success". She highlighted that “RWE’s strategic focus remains on its dynamic markets for attractive large-scale renewables growth.” As for Aneo, the company noted that the agreed investment supports its #Nordic growth strategy. It also expands Aneo's presence in the Swedish market and diversifies its production geographically and technologically. The deal with RWE adds to Aneo's pending acquisition of Swedish Arise. The Norwegian firm recently passed 97% acceptance rate in its voluntary public takeover offer and expects to wrap up the deal in January. https://lnkd.in/eE4qZH5v
