Peter Glöckler appointed as new member of the STRABAG Group Central International Board. On 11 August, the #STRABAG SE Supervisory Board appointed Peter Glöckler as a member of the Board of Directors, effective immediately, to take over the #management of the South-East segment. This area includes #Austria, #Poland, the #CzechRepublic, #Slovakia, #Hungary, #Romania and the South-Eastern #European markets. He takes over the position from Alfred Watzl, who announced his resignation last week, according to a group press release. Péter Glöckler started his career with the group in 2003 as #technical manager of the Hungarian concessions business. Most recently, he worked as Sector Manager for South-Eastern #Europe, overseeing operations in twelve countries. "Peter Glöckler is not only familiar with the key activities of STRABAG, but has also proven his strategic skills in the restructuring of the Southeast European sector" - Kerstin Gelbmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, said on the appointment. Stefan Kratochwill, President of STRABAG, added: "It embodies our global-local presence and strengthens the Presidency team with this approach." Commenting on his appointment, Peter Glöckler said: "I was honoured and delighted to be asked to join, thanks to my #international experience in twelve very different countries and my commitment to the strategic vision and its implementation at Group level. I am convinced that the combination of local potential and a 360-degree view of the company is the key to the success of STRABAG." Peter Glöckler was born in Hungary and graduated in #civilengineering from the Technical College of Carinthia (Technikum Kärnten). He started his career in Hungarian road management and joined STRABAG in 2003 as technical manager in the concession area. In 2020 he was promoted to sector manager for Hungary and most recently for the entire South-Eastern Europe sector, managing twelve countries in total. https://lnkd.in/errC4C79
