Tip Toe was heartbreaking and the most represented I have felt on TV!!! I keep coming back too three scenes “conservatives and liberals, Republicans and Democrats.” “all this talk about pronouns.” And “when they fleed unsafe housing.” As someone who faced being hate crimed for being outspoken trans person, fleed unsafe housing and is constantly worried about “what if Trump keeps on winning” my little neurodivergent trans heart felt like that series looked into my mind and portrayed everything I was thinking and fearing!!! It also is a reminder that although I may not be in grad school yet, I’m still here despite all the bs. That’s pretty cool! I am working on an article on HIV in University population and was inspired by this series to do more work within that area. It’s wild to me that even today, when talking about going on a date with my bf someone has the audacity and lack of education to say “don’t all gay people have HIV.” I’m extremely excited and worked so hard to be in a much better place to navigate these conversations, keep myself grounded and regulated and continue to do work in areas that are highly stigma. Happy to be alive, gay and Trans!
