Our CHRO, Joana Mikaela Liew, was at CNBC Converge Live last week, in a roundtable on the reskilling revolution: what it takes to build workforces ready for an AI-driven world. One line she came away with: If AI is the amplifier, we are still the operators. The room brought together leaders across fintech, tech, SaaS, labour, and policy. The conversation wasn't about whether AI changes work; we know it is already doing that. It was about whether companies, educators, and policymakers are moving fast enough to keep people in the driver's seat. Reskilling can't be a one-time programme. It has to be continuous, embedded, and accessible across the whole system. And the real differentiator? Empathy. Judgement. Knowing when to rely on the machine, and when not to.
