Holiday Reading and Watching reviews.. The Power of Now; Eckhart Tolle I’ve read it before but it never gets old. Tolle’s core idea, that most suffering comes from living in the past or future rather than the present moment, sounds simple but takes some brainpower to absorb. The early chapters on the “pain body” and ego identification are the strongest; then it gets a bit repetitive and leans hard into spiritual language. Best read slowly, a chapter at a time, easy to pick up and put down. American Playboy; The Hugh Hefner Story A glossy, dramatised retelling of Hefner’s life. Worth watching for the cultural history alone. I had no idea that Hugh was such a positive activist in hardcore civil rights areas such as race, war and landmark cases such as Roe vs Wade. He was not “Just the old man from the playboy mansion.” Always good to get behind the masks we all wear when you have a bit of downtime. P.s. I don’t have any copyright free photos of Hugh or his business ventures ! Bx
