Did you know that Fight for Sight funded the initial trial that led to the first gene therapy for choroideremia? This clinical trial showed benefits in slowing down or stopping vision loss in patients, in some people it even restored their sight! The Tommy Salisbury Choroideremia fund raised £500k which helped us fund the early stage research at Imperial College London that led to this breakthrough at the University of Oxford. This year Team Tommy aims to reach £1 million through marathons, half marathons, donation drives and more to fund even more research into choroideremia.
