One of the most rewarding aspects of revisiting The Gadoomfs has been remembering the real people behind the characters. Today I'm sharing Boo. Like all four Gadoomf siblings, Boo was inspired by one of our children. Her kindness, willingness to help, playful energy and mischievous spirit became the foundation for a fictional character who has now been part of my creative life for many years. This short video also captures something symbolic. Both Sarah and Boo begin in black and white before moving into colour. In many ways, that's exactly what this creative journey feels like: not replacing the past, but breathing fresh life into it. As creators, we often discover that revisiting earlier work isn't about changing who we were—it's about seeing it with new eyes.
