With the nation preparing to cheer on Scotland at the World Cup, today also marks the start of Scotland Loves Local Week - and Provost Jim Leishman has been showing his support for local businesses! Scotland Loves Local is the national campaign for people to build stronger, more sustainable futures for their community by supporting the businesses in their area, potentially injecting millions of pounds into regional economies. The theme for this year’s Scotland Loves Local Week is ‘Flying The Flag for Local Businesses’, so it’s only fitting that our football-daft Provost is doing exactly that. “With Scotland heading to the World Cup, there’s a real buzz about the place - and it’s the perfect time to get behind the shops, cafes and venues on our own doorstep,” Jim said. “Local businesses give the place its life and character, and they need our backing. “If we all make the effort to choose local, even in small ways, it helps our high streets and town centres thrive.” To find out more about Fife Council’s support for the campaign, visit: https://lnkd.in/e4A_Ebre And check out www.lovelocal.scot for further information on what’s been happening across the country.
