Delighted to have presented my PhD research at the 20th World Congress of the European Association for Palliative Care 2026 in Prague. It was an inspiring and deeply meaningful experience, bringing together global researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and compassionate community advocates to advance equitable palliative care. Aligned with this year’s theme, “From Strong Foundations to New Horizons,” I shared my PhD research on addressing nutritional inequalities and the cultural needs of food and nutrition provision in palliative and end‑of‑life care (PEoLC). A few reflections that continue to shape my thinking: ➖ “It’s about living, not just dying”, a powerful reminder of the importance of accessible, equitable care for all. 🌱 ➖The immense value of early, holistic, and culturally responsive approaches to care. ➖The growing impact of co‑design, compassionate communities, and patient & public involvement. ➖Fresh insights into food and nutrition as a critical, yet often overlooked, element of PEoLC. It was a privilege to exchange ideas, gain valuable feedback, and connect with inspiring leaders in the field. Inspirations and connections from the week: Mette Asbjørn Neergaard Joanne B. The conversations on innovation, from system mapping to community-driven models; have significantly enriched my research approach and will shape the next phase of my PhD journey. Grateful to the University of Westminster Graduate School and my supervisors Sharon Noonan-Gunning, PhD, RD. Regina Murphy Keith Dr Ihab Tewfik for their continued support, and to everyone I had the pleasure of meeting and learning from. Prague also left me with a question that resonates deeply in both research and practice: “What is a good life?” #EAPC2026 #PalliativeCare #PhDResearch #HealthEquity #HealthSystems #EndOfLifeCare #CompassionateCommunities #CoDesign #CulturalSensitivity #ResearchJourney #PEoLC University of Westminster School of Life Sciences at the University of Westminster
