🐖 What if the most "efficient" livestock systems are actually making our food security worse? 🐓 This question is central to how we should think about the future of monogastric production. 🌿 Feed conversion ratios measure something real — but in isolation. Being maximally efficient with inputs that are themselves unsustainable isn't efficiency in any meaningful sense. 🪰 Conversely - systems that may look "inefficient" on an emissions or feed conversion basis can capture protein from waste streams, and deliver excellent welfare for animals and farmers alike.
