A new report from the World Economic Forum, produced in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Women’s Health, Kearney Health Institute, the Gates Foundation and Wellcome Leap, shows that despite growing attention to women’s health, the innovation landscape remains poorly understood. The Women’s Health Innovation Radar identifies three gaps that continue to hold innovation back: funding, evidence, and translation into real-world solutions. Together, these gaps leave many high-burden conditions under-served. This is particularly evident in the lack of investment and data, with only 20% of research funding being women-focused. Women‑specific evidence also remains limited, accounting for just ~16% of publications and <3% of clinical trials focused on women, leading to gaps in evidence on how diseases manifest and respond to treatment in women. At Ferring, we are committed to helping close the women’s health innovation gap by advancing reproductive medicine. We recognise that closing these gaps will require more than awareness. It calls for collective action across industry, policy and research to strengthen the evidence base, increase targeted investment, and accelerate the translation of innovation into meaningful outcomes for women.
