Last week, the Hazelnut Summit brought together institutions, academia, professional associations and industry leaders to celebrate the first year of the Hazelnut Agronomy Program, Italy’s first technical school entirely dedicated to hazelnut cultivation, with results that exceeded expectations. In the auditorium of the European Parliament in Rome, a full room of highly engaged agronomists, experts and partners reaffirmed the value of multi-stakeholder partnerships as a key driver of a more innovative, effective and sustainable future for the Italian hazelnut sector. Selected participants presented the solutions they developed throughout the program, demonstrating how knowledge sharing, innovation and collaboration can be transformed into practical answers to real challenges across the value chain. Alongside the launch of the program’s second edition, we announced the creation of the Hazelnut Community, a platform designed to keep participants connected, foster collaboration and continue turning ideas into concrete action. A sincere thank you to the European Parliament for hosting these important conversations, and to Ordine dei dottori agronomi e dei dottori forestali - CONAF and EIIS - European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability - for walking this journey with us. We were also honored to welcome Pina Picierno, Vice President of the European Parliament, who recognized the importance of the initiative for the Italian hazelnut value chain and highlighted its potential as a model for other sectors and countries. #WeAreFerrero #HazelnutSummit2026 #HazelnutAgronomyProgram #FerreroHazelnutCompany #FerreroItalia #CONAF #EIIS #Sustainability #Innovation
