What does resilience mean for cocoa supply chains? For Ferrero, it starts at the farm. Cocoa is a critical ingredient for Ferrero, and building more resilient cocoa supply chains requires long-term commitment, collaboration and action on the ground. At the recent General Assembly of the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa, Aldo Cristiano, Chairman of its Board, joined sector partners to discuss how the industry can continue working together to strengthen cocoa supply chains. Farmers remain among the most vulnerable actors in the value chain. Supporting their economic, social and environmental resilience is essential to strengthening the resilience of the cocoa sector as a whole. Through our responsible cocoa sourcing approach, we work with partners to support farmer livelihoods, promote practices such as agroforestry, and contribute to more transparent and resilient supply chains.
