How to purify recombinant proteins derived from precision fermentation?   Of course, there are established solutions in the biopharmaceutical space using chromatography. For non-pharma applications, such as industrial use, food and cosmetics, however, the design rationales must be different, just to match economy, but still achieving product purity and product safety.   Yes this is what fermify knows and did.   You want to know more about it? Of course, we cannot disclose IP, but we explain what equipment is needed:   We designed a platform process for this purpose and established a pilot facility around it. The platform solution includes two tanks, which allow proper agitation, temperature control, pH, conductivity adjustment, like this the solution can be swapped back and forth for different treatment steps with smart buffer additions and titrations. Also, the solution can be circulated over a disk stack centrifuge, a homogenizer for intracellular products, and over TFF, e.g. Microfiltration or Ultrafiltration. Finally the product is concentrated in a smaller third tank on which an TFF is coupled. As support, you need of course buffer prep, hold and CIP.   This system needs automation and full control with a Scada.   All of this technology described is available for you at 600 L scale with 150 l/h design flowrate for batch processing.
