A moment for the #girldads everywhere 👏 A study conducted by Jagiellonian University finds that having daughters actually increases the life expectancy of fathers! Specifically, the researchers found that for each daughter a father had, his lifespan increased by an average of 74 weeks. Researchers aren’t sure exactly why but they offered a few possibilities: ➡️ Fathers with daughters are more likely to adopt healthy lifestyles: healthy eating, no smoking, and regular exercise. ➡️ Fathers with daughters are more likely to have strong social support networks. It’s well-documented that social support plays a role in longevity. ➡️ Biology: The hormones that are produced during pregnancy may have a protective effect on fathers.
