Leo Fritze (1903 - 1974) Parrots with Tropical Flora, 1945 Mixed media on paper 48 x 68 cm Leo Fritze was a German artist. Born in Königsberg, he studied at the Kunstakademie Königsberg and under Eugen Bracht. There is not much recorded about Fritze's life. It is known that he was an avid traveller and visited many foreign countries such as Italy, Egypt, and some places in Asia. He subsequnetly painted scenes from those visits. Leo Fritze lived in Ceylon for extended periods in the 1930s and 1940s. He died in Berlin in 1974
